The guitar hook from Muse's 2001 track Plug In Baby has been voted best guitar riff of the 21st century.
The band’s 2006 hit Knights Of Cydonia also won the band fifth spot in the poll for Total Guitar magazine. Readers, asked to nominate the ultimate guitar riff of the past 10 years, chose songs by Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Green Day and Metallica in the top 50. Red Hot Chili Peppers also made the list, as did Mercury Music Prize winners Elbow.
